Lauren Legacy Scholarship Foundation Story
The Lauren Legacy Scholarship Foundation (LLSF) was established to honor the life and legacy of Lauren Delayne Hicks, whose journey was tragically cut short on February 11, 2023, due to a pulmonary embolism. Though her time with us was brief, Lauren’s impact on her community was profound and enduring. This foundation exists to celebrate the vibrant life she lived and to continue the work she was passionate about.
Lauren was a cherished member of every community she touched. A proud graduate of Spelman College, the nation’s #1 Historically Black College and University (HBCU), Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree with honors, graduating cum laude in the class of 2020. Her ambition and love for learning took her across the globe, ultimately leading her to Washington, D.C., where she began her career as a consultant with a prestigious firm. In her 25 years, Lauren accomplished so much—she hosted weekly young professionals meetings, volunteered within her company, and inspired those around her with her boundless energy and optimism.
LLSF was created by her family to honor her deep love for community, culture, and education. Through scholarships and community initiatives, we aim to keep Lauren’s memory alive by supporting and empowering those who share her commitment to education and generational growth.
We invite you to join us in making a difference. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, your support will help us carry forward Lauren’s legacy and create lasting change in the lives of others.
